Wyoming Machine
Traci Tapani is the co-president (with her sister) of Wyoming Machine, Inc., a sheet metal company in Stacy, Minnesota, which they inherited from their father in 1994. Founded in 1974, Wyoming Machine began as a family-owned, old school machine shop. In the mid-1980s, the company became the first of its type in Minnesota to purchase and use laser cutting equipment for sheet metal fabrication. To be able to meet the welding standards of the US military and aerospace industries, the company had to be completely retooled for training and hiring.
Tracy earned a bachelor of science degree in business from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. After graduation and working several years in the banking industry, she joined Wyoming Machine. She has served on the board of the charitable foundation of the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association. Currently, she serves as trustee at the Initiative Foundation and as a board member of the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce.
