Panel Presentation

Innovate to Thrive: Creating a Culture of Innovation That Can Scale

Panel Presentation, Discussion and Q&A

Second-stage businesses grow and thrive by beating big companies to the punch with innovation.
They must be nimble, creative and able to solve problems at a pace that larger companies can’t.  Innovation is critical for bringing new products, services and business models to the market. Join us and learn from a panel of entrepreneurs and business leaders with track records of “out-innovating” the competition. You will learn best practices for building the value of your business from experienced CEO peers.

Jason Eichenholz, Ph.D. — Luminar Technologies— is a serial entrepreneur, executive and recognized pioneer in laser and optics enabled innovation, product development and commercialization. Over the past two decades he has started and founded multiple companies that raised over a billion dollars of investor funding and went public on Nasdaq.

Angela Alban SIMETRI – Angela M. Alban is president and chief executive officer of SIMETRI, Inc., an Orlando-based firm that provides innovative solutions for training through art and science. SIMETRI designs, develops, and fields creative technologies and capabilities for training military personnel, physicians, nurses and first responders.

Dan McGaw — McGaw.io – Dan is an award-winning entrepreneur and speaker with 20+ years of experience in marketing technology and analytics. Dan was formerly the head of marketing at Kissmetrics and was head of growth at CodeSchool.com which was acquired by Pluralsight. Coined as one of the original growth hackers, and one of the godfathers of marketing technology, he has helped thousands of companies over his career.

David Metcalf, Ph.D. — Global Blockchain Ventures, METIL UCF – his specialties include Innovation, Blockchain, AR/VR, Smart Cities/IoT, mHealth, mLearning, Healthcare IT, technology advisement and investing. He focuses on research and design capabilities for cost-effective, real-world learning and simulation initiatives to prepare for the future in 5G and beyond.

Tom O’Neal, Ph.D. —  UCF — is an electrical engineer and a professor of Industrial Engineering and Management at UCF.  He founded the UCF Business Incubation Program, a network of 10+ incubator facilities throughout the region. He’s also a past Chairman of the National Business Incubator Association. Tom is an I-Corps Instructor certified by the National Science Foundation.

Jonathon Taylor — Entrenext Ventures, Zendicate Ventures — starting off as a coder, he became an entrepreneur, and started selling (and buying) companies. Along the way, Jonathon learned more about teams, culture and negotiating than he did about coding. He’s now a deal-focused investor and mentor working with and investing in teams of smart, hardworking, trustworthy people.
