Speaker Summary Bio:

Doug serves as Chairman of Newport Board Group and its affiliated investment firm Evolution Capital Partners. Earlier, as Chairman and CEO of Tatum LLC, Doug built a highly respected national professional service firm, leading the firm from its entrepreneurial phase to growth to 30 offices. Tatum LLC was sold to Spherion (now SFN Group) in January of 2010. He remains deeply involved with issues involving entrepreneurial growth companies and middle market private equity and midcap public companies – the target market segments for the firm. Doug is the noted author of No Man’s Land – the recipient of 4 National Best Business book awards. He serves on the Board of ACG (the national association for Middle Market Private Equity and intermediaries) and is Chairman of the industry’s national conference, Intergrowth, in 2012. He was recently named Advisory Board Chairman for a national research institute funded by the NASDQ Foundation and the Edward Lowe Foundation to study exceptional growth companies, middle market capital markets and their impact on employment and economic growth. A frequently sought after speaker, Doug currently holds the Wright Travel Chair in Entrepreneurship at Middle Tennessee State University as an Associate Professor. Prior to Tatum, Doug served in a number of companies as an officer and senior executive.
