When David Morgan, CEO of Morgan Financial, made the decision to transform a building in Melbourne’s Eau Gallie Arts District into a large showcase headquarters for his company, he knew it was going to take a lot of help.
In developing this new facility, David wanted to support the region by hiring qualified, local businesses. Ultimately, he found the solution within his own CEO Nexus Roundtable network. He recruited his fellow members William Chivers, CEO of RUSH Construction, and Rob Perers, CEO of American Business Interiors, to bring his vision to life.

Roundtable groups are designed to create a confidential setting to address and solve complex business issues. But given the nature of entrepreneurs who participate in these programs, it’s understandable that business opportunities emerge among members. Because of the trust established through the roundtable process, David felt confident engaging with William and Rob for this project. While joining a roundtable group for lead generation is never the goal, it can happen.

The project consisted of a complete renovation of the 18,075-square-foot space. The entire facility was gutted, exterior walls had to be cut to insert windows and the construction crew made structural steel modifications to support openings for the windows and doors. One of the key elements of the design was the addition of glass to maximize views from the building. The atrium was also a standout design element that brought daylight right into the center of the headquarters.

Morgan Financial was founded 20 years ago from a folding table in the home of David Morgan. Today, the full-service mortgage lender is one of the largest independent lenders of its kind in the region. Over the years, the business has outgrown a number of offices, with its team now made up of nearly 50 people. The new headquarters has capacity for up to 100 employees, providing the company plenty of room to continue growing. Its ideal location will also increase the company’s visibility greatly.

This largescale renovation project is a great example of the connections that can be made in a CEO roundtable. CEO Nexus’ mission is to help CEOs of second-stage businesses navigate their ownership journey and accomplish their business goals. One of the ways we support members is to help them expand their networks and build connections.

The teamwork displayed by the CEOs of Morgan Financial, RUSH Construction and American Business Interiors is inspiring and shows what can be accomplished when local business leaders join forces.
